Before 2015, we only stayed in hotels as we had not heard of AirBnB or if ever we came across it, we were just not interested. I loved staying in hotels then and I still do now. The only reason why we even consider doing the AirBnB route is this desire to experience living like a local. And yes, it is cheaper to stay in an AirBnB room or apartment compared to a hotel room but not always. Perhaps when we finally decide to do long-term travel and become a part-time resident or traveler rather than a tourist, I will definitely choose AirBnB. But really, I’m more of a hotel kind of gal.
We had a chance to stay at the Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa back in 2013 and we loved it. From the moment we walked in, we were in love. By the way, Le Meridien replaced Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa as of June of this year and is now managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
Meet our room.
Sorry about the mess. I didn’t have the chance to take a photo as soon as we were checked in. Just like on every trip, we prioritize meals over anything else and we had not taken our lunch before we got here. So imagine us rushing to Vivo City to get a quick bite. When we got back to the hotel, we were already dead tired. Taking photos was the last thing on my mind.
Now on to the little but all too important amenities…
What about the toilet and bath? Most hotels fail to impress when it comes to this part but Mövenpick would surely delight you as it’s luxury all the way.
We had a full itinerary during our stay in Singapore. Too bad we didn’t get to dip in the pool while there.
If you’re in Sentosa Island , it is a 4-minute walk from Imbiah station and a 10-minute walk from Universal Studios Singapore and Resorts World Casino. If you’re coming from outside of Sentosa, it’s just 20-minute drive from Orchard Road and around 25 to 30 minute drive from Changi International Airport depending on the traffic.
We booked this via Booking.com. Since it’s now managed by Starwood, look for Le Meridien Sentosa if you book this through Booking.com or Agoda. We highly recommend this hotel whether it was Movenpick or Le Meridien now.
