Merry Christmas from Adventurous MG’s HQ

Merry Christmas

It’s better late than never.  So Merry Christmas from Adventurous MG’s HQ (if you celebrate) to everyone.  It’s been very busy this past week as we prepare for all the festivities.  Grocery shopping (which I hate), general grooming so we can be presentable at least, gift shopping for cherished people…all this in between never-ending errands and life’s momentum.  It’s been a crazy week over and on top of a much crazier year in fact.  A lot of things has happened.  Good and bad.  But everything for a reason.  Everything happens for a reason.  Such is life, right?  I will make an annual recap this week and look back at all the adventures that happened in 2016.

We celebrated Christmas with the family like always.  There were lots of food, lots of booze, and lots of fun.  It’s the only time in the year that we can get together under one roof.  Adults and kids together.  No ifs, no buts.  Everyone should attend or else…

Of course, there’s the inevitable no-show but we’ve stopped expecting lest we get disappointed again.  Our eldest is also abroad and can’t celebrate with us but hopefully, come 2017, they are able to come back to the Philippines after so many years of living in the US.  Fingers crossed.  I wonder what would that be like.

Here are photos from Christmas eve.

Potluck. Each family has to bring a certain food.  We had all sorts of pasta — spaghetti, baked macaroni, and lasagna.  My Papa’s embotido is always present during Christmas.  Other dishes were BBQ, Seafood in Parsley Cream, Buffalo Wings, Chicken Lollipop, Sotanghon, Siomai, Excellente Ham and various cheeses.  For dessert, we had Blueberry Cheesecake, Buco Pandan and of course, Fruit Salad.

I think MG does not make a good reindeer. She looks pissed here.

All in all, we all had a good time.  It’s always nice to reconnect with family even just once a year. Here’s my vlog about our Christmas eve celebration. It’s long and a lot of secrets was uncovered in the process. It really does pay to ask questions.

Merry Christmas, Everyone!
